Today, we sent medical supplies and consumables to Wadi Halfa Hospital to cover the needs of the local diagnostic laboratory for a period of two months. The hospital is currently experiencing a marked increase in attendances and admissions as a result of the unprecedented wave of displacement of Sudanese people who have been forced to flee their homes and migrate to the Northern State -in particular Wadi Halfa- due to the catastrophic armed conflict.
At the SDU-UK, we are liaising closely with local colleagues and authorities to help improve the critical health situation in the region. We continue to provide medical support for the clinics at the northern border crossings.
